Several anonymous armed men attacked Islamic State (IS) female fighters in Mosul, killing five.
A source told BasNews that a group of armed men, whose identity is unknown, assaulted the al-Khansah brigade base in Mosul and killed five members of the female brigade.
Al-Khansa is responsible for arresting women and enforcing Islamic laws on them.
Kurdistan Democratic Party official from Mosul, Saed Mamuzini confirmed the reports and declared that anonymous armed groups continue deadly attacks on IS militants inside their stronghold in northern Iraq.
Mosul, which is the second largest city in Iraq, has been under control of the Islamic State militants since June 2014.
